and blood and air
love thy neighbour
delicately strewn alt-pop tracks with resounding strings reverberating throughout on this captivating debut ep from singer/cellist abi wade.
scooped up by esben & the witch’s daniel copeman & andy rossiter for the 1st release on their promising love thy neighbour imprint, abi wade uses her instrument of choice (cello) as the main accompaniment for these songs, which despite their somewhat peculiar & other-worldly nature, are surprisingly accessible. carved with a uniquely tailored blade it is hard to liken her to any former artist, but similarities have been drawn to the independently distinct arthur russell, joanna newsom & kate bush.
