a lush album of mesmerising melancholy - the LA quartet's 2nd full length is not an immediate attention grabber but given the time & patience it deserves, you're sure to be utterly seduced.
its success lies in its subtlety & the band's confidence to keep everything within the less-is-more code of conduct they appear to have adopted for this record (although they do get a little funky on 'disco / very'). "dulcet melancholy from the dark side of the californian dream.....exquisite, addictive gloom...the twilit fug of warpaint is hypnotic, erotic, & rewards the close listening its hushed grooves & harmonies invite" 4/5 - mojo, "Warpaint bring beefed up electronics to their tracks to sculpt their woozy shoegaze into something sinisterly sexy" - guardian.
