an intense, beautiful and brutal album of black metal-infused techno experimentation from our favourite purveyor of digital doom.
if, like us, you thought ‘dumb flesh’ was the peak of his powers, think again – ‘world eater’ is the more matured and rounded album that we never knew the fuck buttons man could produce. the primal urgency is replaced with a more nuanced and patient build but with the same crushing highs and lows that made ‘dumb flesh’ one of our top picks of 2015. if you reckon aphex twin playing with chris & cosey and wolves in the throne room would sound like fun then you need to pick this up.
Alex recommends: “jaw clenching industrial bangers and cleansing vapourwave ballads - A rabid beast that devours everything around it without ever cannibalising itself”.
Natasha recommends: “Beats for your brain. Beats for your feet. Beats for your inner demons. No-one else touches Benjamin John Power’s unflinching, epic noise. Brutal but beautiful”
