we’ve run out of extreme adjectives to describe this extreme, devastating, unreal band – suffice it to say absolutely no one makes music like The Body.

They continue to defy the constraints of what it means to be a ‘heavy’ band, seamlessly combining diverse influences for an utterly singular sound. The album’s contributors are varied, and answer the perennial question of what opera would sound like with the devil as the conductor. this is frankly boundary-pushing stuff, where these genius freaks channel their bleak worldview into propulsive, affecting, and even danceable music. “they stress-test the breaking point of heavy music, with elements of industrial, noise, sludge metal, dub, dark ambient and choral arrangements” 8/10 – drowned in sound, “This is one of the best records I’ve heard in a long time” 5/5 – metal injection
