Jonny Greenwood

THERE WILL BE BLOOD (MUSIC FROM THE MOTION PICTURE)

NONESUCH

limited edition high performance 140g lp (pre-order)

Expected Release: 18th Jan 2019

£23.99

The stunning Grammy and BAFTA Award–nominated score to the Academy Award-winning film finally becomes available worldwide on vinyl for the first time – mastered at Abbey Road Studios, and with two additional tracks, this very special edition of Greenwood’s masterful soundtrack, as string-heavy, foreboding and as intense as Daniel Plainview himself, also comes in an old-style gatefold jacket.

Described by Variety as “as memorable as Daniel Day-Lewis’ performance…you can almost feel the oil pulsing beneath the ground”, it is performed by the BBC Concert Orchestra led by Robert Ziegler.Greenwood described the score as being “all about the underlying menace in the film, the greed, and that against the fucked-up, oppressive religious mood – and this kid in the middle of it all.” The first of many collaborations between Paul Thomas Anderson and Greenwood (he went on to score The Master, Inherent Vice, and Phantom Thread), this is where it all began.
