Ebbb
All At Once
Ninja Tune
An ambient yet pummelling whirlwind of pistoning drums, screwed synths, and airy vocals - Ebbb were clearly reared on early 2000s glitchy electronics but add their own distinct twists into the maelstrom.
That they can squeeze all of these ideas into an EP has us positively drooling for what an album might hold in store. Fusing pulsing rhythms, immersive electronic production, sparkling melodies, layered vocal harmonies and beats that veer from ambient to industrial, the result is an idiosyncratic hybrid of sounds. One that the group describes as “Brian Wilson meets Death Grips”. But while the EP might be experimental, loose and unpredictable, it’s also deeply considered, taut, and absolutely flab-free.
