We’ve been with this band every step of their nineteen year career, across an impressive twenty-one “Field Music Productions” to date. And now, emboldened and augmented with fresh impetus, they’re here to guarantee we all stay with them.
‘Limits of Language’ is the band’s first album of new music for al-most four years and they decided that it would have to be different, in both sound and scope. There have been a plethora of recent solo projects: David’s quietly-jazzy ‘Soft Struggles’; the playful electroni-ca of Peter’s ‘Blowdry Colossus’; a limited-issue brass collaboration LP ‘Binding Time’; and the vault-raiding ‘John Monroe EP’ made with original Field Music keyboard player Andrew Moore, all of which have inspired this new direction
These new compositions see David & Peter mix synthesised tex-tures, off-the-cuff flickers of guitars and layers of disorientating found-sound percussion within a confidentially expanded Field Mu-sic sonic palette as they continue with their astonishing, bloody-minded run of releases.
