floor weapons vol.1
Dark and oppressive, the beats that drive “Floor Weapons Vol 1” hang heavy overhead like the densest storm cloud about to break - hypnotic, repetitive doom-laden beats abound, making this is an essential listen for anyone who likes their dub seething with attitude.
Anarcho-dub punks from Nagasaki, Japan, this mutating crew of anti-specialists, are united in one sonic aesthetic, and that is to seriously fuck with digital dub steppas. Disciples of Jah Shaka, Iration Steppas and Aba-shanti, but based in faraway Japan, G36 have chosen to fiercely mess with Roots, whilst consciously steering away from the stale formulas of conventional reggae. Instead they channel the pummelling attack of stripped back steppas rhythms via their passion for manga, science fiction and S&M, into brutally overdriven, ballistic dancefloor weapons.
