Following last year’s acclaimed Jazz On The Corner compilation 2019 again sees Martin Freeman team up with Acid Jazz’s renowned head honcho Eddie Piller to present a veritable and personal collection of tracks.

The series was launched last year with the phenomenally successful Jazz On The Corner, a diverse collection of underplayed and perhaps overlooked jazz classics which was described by Chris Phillips of Jazz FM as “the best jazz compilation of the last 20 years”. The concept came from a radio show that Freeman and Piller put together for BBC 6Music which was so well received that the pair decided to dig deep into their record collections and build a double album of some of their favourite tracks. The concept is simple: an album packed full of soul gems from off the beaten track with Martin and Eddie choosing half each. Released on both vinyl and CD in a gatefold sleeve with sleeve-notes on the selections. This instalment shines the spotlight on classic soul club monsters from the likes of Bobby Womack and Leroy Hutson, super rare discoveries including Arnold Blair and Tommy McGee and some very rare 45’s from Pamoja & Patsy Gallant.
