Our much-treasured ruminating Irishmen returned to harness our souls once again with their second album.

It might have taken us a while to deal with them veering away from the intense melancholy that got us hooked in the first place, but once we embraced their evolution, we were fully back on board. The mood is still densely atmospheric with a dark layer at the base of each composition but this rejuvenated band now bring colour, texture and intricacy to the forefront of their writing. The opposing forces of mood and melody create an audible tension that mean they remain utterly compelling within their newly bright outlook (and continue to be one of the best live propositions around).
