The gritty, grainy, Burial-esque audioscapes drew us into Jude Woodhead’s beatmaking but it’s the low, slow, intensely fierce burn of his productions & his twisted melodies that burrow deep.

His debut self-produced album is a perfect encapsulation of these fraught & fractured times.

We have a sneaky feeling this will be one of those records we look back on & feel super proud to have been a tiny part of taking to a wider audience. Conceptualised during the lockdown in 2020, his debut self-produced album, ‘Signal’, is a self-portrait about coming of age during a time of political crisis & social change – a perfect encapsulation of fraught & fractured times.

The born & bred South London based producer has been a pivotal part of the Slow Dance scene, playing one of their first parties in a west London warehouse. With a sound that nods to everyone from Mount Kimbie to William Basinski, Jude’s approach is honest, eclectic & raw. Enlisting the help of past collaborators & friends (Aga Ujma, Low Loudly, Sarah from Drug Store Romeos, Louis Culture, Trim, HALINA & Zeke Ultra), the wide range of voices offer up different perspectives & points of engagement throughout. Pure class.
