We weren’t sure whether we should technically include this in our top picks of 2023 as the physical release was bizarrely split into 2 halves, the first of which we featured last year.

But we had to talk about the record as a whole, so here they are featured again! Part soul, part funk, part gospel - the full-length debut album proper from this talented UK / Los Angeles trio soars way beyond what we could have hoped for. With a vocal richness that recalls Nina Simone and Terry Callier and instrumentation so sumptuous we remain hungry for more after the umpteenth listen. Majestic but gritty, their sound is unlike anything else out there right now.
