I Never Learn
the enchanting rather foxy Swedish singer-songwriter Lykke Li releases her 3rd studio album, said to be the final part of a trilogy.
Co-produced by long-time collaborator Björn Yttling (of Peter, bjorn & john), Greg Kurstin & for the first time by Lykke herself, 'I Never Learn' takes inspiration from her LA surroundings where much of the record was recorded, Lykke commented, "Every song on the album is a power ballad. Like one of those old radio stations. This is a slow dance; a slow burner". inspired by a recent heartbreak, Lykke’s songwriting is all the more devastating for it. "breakup albums - rarely are they as stubborn & extraordinary as this collection. Much like Angel Olsen’s also excellent album from this year, Li isn’t exactly blazing new territory in terms of emotional revelation but is in uncomfortable territory, realizing that her voice is her own & using it for what feels true to her" - consequence of sound.
