STEALING SHEEP
not real
Heavenly
bright melodies & insistent beats, unified by vocal harmonies - sometimes metronomic & chant-like, sometimes choral & pop - Stealing Sheep's 2nd album sees them take their "medieval-kraut-folk" into a more futuristic direction.
They've experimented with tuned percussion, programmed beats, trigger samples & worked with effected synths, utilising the guitar & lap steel more sparingly & introducing more processed sounds. They’ve drawn inspiration from 50's exotica, electronic music & 80's pop & been influenced by the likes of Grace Jones, Maya Deren, Eden Ahbez, Delia Derbyshire, Moondog & John Carpenter. "over 10 miniature masterpieces the trio craft odd, briliant & utterly english pop music. pastoral & beguiling. truly a class act" 4/5 - mojo.
