Mogwai
Central Belters
Rock Action Records
The kind of extravagant retrospective package that a band of this magnitude deserve in our opinion.
A set of highlights (although that could simply be all their albums packaged up together to be honest) & rarities, spanning the Glaswegian post-rock band's 20 year career - from their debut long-player 'Young Team' (1997) all the way through to 2014's ‘Rave Tapes’. A must own collection of some of the best & most well-known of their slow burning, epic, atmospheric music, available as a fantastic 3CD set or lavish heavyweight 6LP box set (with individual sleeves & download codes) with a 20 page booklet of photos that takes you through the band’s history. You need this in your life. If you really can’t justify buying it for yourself, make sure you put it on the wishlist…..& make sure someone knows it’s top of the list!
“a fittingly weighty document of their emotional heft” – mojo, “another addition to Mogwai's own unique literary cannon, formed of vast soundscapes, titanic chord sequences & loud-mouthed abandon that locks together the foundations of their power” – the quietus
