Private Meaning First
Fatcat Records
Colossal noise punk from a band that we’re crushing on harder and harder with each brilliant new release.
France’s Psychotic Monks formed in the bleak winter of 2015 and have spent their time since growing a following for their uncompromising and genre-splicing public performances and recordings. their second album, and their first for tastemaker label Fat Cat, was recorded in near total isolation. They flit between the contortions of The Jesus Lizard, the looseness of Sonic Youth, the malevolent electronics of Throbbing Gristle and the organic pulse of Dublin’s Girl Band, but ultimately create something that feels of their own. “French post-punk noise band return with an aural blast of intensity, interspersed with brittle and claustrophobic beauty, on an album that builds brilliantly on their previous work” 4/5 – louder than war
Buddy says “If we can't see them live this will most certainly do. One of the most intense acts around, get your earholes around this!”
