2LP (pre-order)

Expected Release: 22nd Jun 2018

joey negro returns to unearth a further set of obscure & long-forgotten tracks that would go on to influence the likes of bands like Wham!, Spandau Ballet, Haircut 100 & Level 42.

Emerging in the late 70’s & taking influences from jazz, funk, reggae & pop, Brit Funk was essentially the UK’s answer to underground disco. “I thought I had it all when it came to Brit Funk & beyond but then again I hadn't been round Joey Negro's, had I? A crucial selection from a world that inspired a whole generation of DJs & bands.” - Gilles Peterson. It’s incredible how rare some of the records included are & how diverse the sounds become. a lot of time & effort has been spent on creating these masters from the original vinyl, resulting in the cleanest sounding copy possible.
