New song written, but not recorded, by Beck from his latest unreleased album “Song Reader”. Produced by John Reynolds. Beck took the bold step of “releasing” his new album, “Song Reader”, in sheet music form only. He didn’t record any of the songs. He just put them out there. Now, one of the standout tracks on the album, “America, Here’s My Boy” has been brought to life by the David Sinclair Trio. Produced by John Reynolds (Sinead O’Connor, U2, Brian Eno), it tells the heart-wrenching story of a mother who gives her soldier son to America during the First World War – and doesn’t get him back. Sinclair, who has released three acclaimed albums with his London-based Trio, wrote a story about the Beck album and the making of this record, which was published in The Sunday Times. The B-side, Loneliness (Won’t Leave Me Alone), is a Sinclair original, which features award-winning, Radio 2 bluesman Paul Jones on harmonica.
