the baroque british psych-folk of the glaswegian 4 piece shot through with a kentucky breeze from the wyrd prince.

songwriter alex neilson & will oldham go way back, but here they lurch forward with a bevy of bruised balladry & restless spirit. with neilson writing the songs before retiring to the drum kit these duets are left to the bells vocalist lavinia blackwall & the bonnie ‘prince’ who evoke a fine & fearsome chemistry. “their infusion of psychedelia & folk is the stuff of an lsd trip around the maypole… the union’s success brings the best parts of each act together.” 4/5 – the skinny. “even those wearied by oldham’s avalanche of releases should investigate” 4/5 - mojo
