keysound recordings present: this is how we roll

Released: 27th Mar 2013

compilation of 14 exclusive cuts & vip versions from the keysound family, weaving a trailblazing path between dubstep, grime, synth experiments, jungle & uk funky.

reflects a new wave of hungry, talented but under-recognised producers building their own sounds, all pulsing to a 130bpm heartbeat. the compilation opens with a 3-way mission statement from visionist, beneath & wen, 'new wave', a dark, percussive roller. beneath then unleashes 'pvo' a dread uk funky mutant while visionist shows his grimey side on 'dangerous', with strings that hark back to pay as u go’s ‘know we’. samrai’s ‘hear me now’ & double helix’s ‘ldn vip’ remember early metalheadz-era drum & bass, albeit in a fresh context, whereas epoch’s ‘the steppenwolf’ finds the unlikely centre ground between experimental beats, ‘90s rap, & horror films.
