this raw, grungey 2 piece make up for lack of bandmates with sheer volume with crashing guitars, distinctive, yelped vocals & big beats.

john duignan & conall ó breacháin met in university & bonded over a shared love of ryan adams & radiohead. they spent several years accumulating songs until they felt they had found a style & sound that represented them. the album has a sort of 'jeckyll & hyde' spirit, representing 2 distinct aspects to their sound; 1 is the stripped back & turned up drum & guitar onslaught, reminiscent of blood red shoes' distinctive sublime racket but with a definite thread of irish punk in songs like 'the leopard'. the other sound brought to the fore on tracks like 'yet', 'a pirate's life' & 'dumb blonde' is that of delicate electric guitar, topped with unique, fragile, high vocals.
