Released: 27th Oct 2014

a near virtual history tour of late 20th century electric guitar, touching on widescreen psychedelia, art rock, the late-‘70s new york scene, & the melting pot of early ‘90s underground bands.

‘intensity ghost’ is a giant sounding record, its hall sized psychedelia is filled with hooks & an immediacy rarely found in such sweeping, cinematic music. the influences are not hard to spot (tom verlaine & television, neil young & crazy horse), but this is no retro re-enactment trip. forsyth & the solar motel band synthesise rather than emulate what has come before, producing something all their own. their music is expansive, yes, but also profoundly compelling & lyrical. if you dig the guitar-centric style of steve gunn or mark mcguire this will be right up your street. “grateful dead-gone-to-cbgb masterpiece…takes up where ‘marquee moon’ left off” 9/10 – uncut.
