This is an astoundingly fun treat from the mysterious and disturbingly garbed goat member, an unexpected fusion of afrobeat, gospel, jazz, funk, and psych delivered with joyous conviction.
Think fela kuti, sun ra and can put through those addictive goat filters and end up with a set you are going to absolutely love. Case-in point: ‘carry the load’ snakes into view with a bassline inspired by the stooges’ ‘1969’, blooms with alice coltrane-style gospel chants, descends into some obscure jazz-flute straight out of one of those 70’s west-german squat bands, blasts with animal spirits brass, and repeats ad infinitum. Ravishing! “a masterpiece in hyper-intense tribal funk” - clash
