‘Metronomy Forever’ will be released on CD, limited edition deluxe double black vinyl & limited edition deluxe bonus triple-vinyl edition which compiles the album on transparent orange double vinyl with the bonus ‘Oscar Cash Forever’ 12” pressed on transparent green vinyl. This features Cash’s reworked versions of some of the album’s key tracks.

The band are playing this intimate, fan show to reward us hardcore fans, so do yourselves (& them) a favour & grab a bargain priced album & ticket bundle to show your support. Then come along for a Monstrous & damn fine Nights Out. This Could Be Beautiful (It Is Will Be). Let’s Have A Party & get My Your Heart Rate Rapid!

Metronomy’s debut album ‘Pip Paine (Pay The £5000 You Owe)’ is possibly one of Resident’s most played albums ever. We used to buy the original fabric packaged CD from Holiphonic Records whose office was round the back of the shop. That’s where our obsession began. It seems like forever ago that they played with battery powered lights attached to their chests but 6 albums in & we’re still with them, still hanging on their every shimmering beat.

Now, here we are working with the band at last. We never managed to book an instore with them & now they’re too big for our little shop, so we’ve hooked up with newly launched promoters Joy & are hosting this special event at the Concorde 2. They would obviously normally be playing a much bigger venue these days, so if you want to come along to this, you’re going to need to act fast!

“The follow-up to 2016’s ‘Summer 08’, ‘Metronomy Forever’ features 17 tracks. Its length is born from a desire for breathing room, from not wanting to stuff the hits together like a bouquet of petrol station roses – a modern way of listening to music. Metronomy’s innate skill for blending off-kilter funk, energising club vibes and esoteric pop is interspersed with some mood-setting, glistening and melodic electronic tracks.

The band’s leader Joseph Mount called upon a variety of inspirations for this album. Most notably, he wanted to replicate the feeling of listening to the radio, with an infinite quality, sumptuous songs of different styles, ever rolling, helping to lighten your mood.  Moving away from the bustle of his former Parisian home to take up residence atop a hill in the garden of England had an impact, infusing the album with a sense of tranquillity and a calm joy that reflects the relative happiness of his existence.

Also influential was time spent working on Robyn’s critically adored ‘Honey’ album, with a similar feeling of emotional, intense, carnal mania informing songs such as ‘Sex Emoji’ and ‘Salted Caramel Ice Cream’.

‘Metronomy Forever’ in name represents something looking backwards and forwards simultaneously, like Janus, something fated and eternal. You were made from dust and to dust you will return, that sort of thing.”
