let them eat vinyl

white lp

Released: 7th Oct 2013

this wonderful & challenging 1985 album boasts some of the most literate & angry lyrics in all of rock & roll.

while important social commentary fills this album, from anti-gun diatribe ‘goons of hazard’ to the bemoaning of racism & classism on the sex pistols-esque ‘this could be anywhere’, the finest selection on this album (& perhaps in the whole dead kennedys' canon) is the anthemic ‘stars & stripes of corruption.’ the number utilises a hard-rocking midsection flanked by faster, punk-oriented material. the verses are stunningly detailed, describing what the band believes is wrong with the united states & what the solutions should be. 1000 only limited edition on fantastic 140 gram white vinyl.
