from the film’s opening sequence, you know you’re in the hands of a composer with a vivid imagination; his fractured, erratic synths and guitars perfectly reflect our protagonist’s haunted mid. the Oscar-nominated Radiohead guitarist’s score for the Lynne Ramsay and Joaquin Phoenix film displays both beautiful and harrowing string arrangements performed by the London Contemporary Orchestra and experimental string player Olly Coates (‘Under The Skin’), married with experimental synthesisers, drum machines, recorders and guitars. Extraordinary.
