The Corinne Bailey Rae-naissance is here! Kicking her previous sounds into the long grass, the Leeds lass is tearing it up with as broad a spectrum of sounds as you can possibly imagine.

She bruises us with snarling riot grrrl action then soothing us with astounding and experimental sound work before looping it all back together with a vestige of neo soul and R&B. She’s harking back to her teenage influences but instilling it all with the knowledge and experiences she has gained since. There are elements of Alice Coltrane, of Pink Siifu, of Eartha Kitt but always with her own twist. It caught us a little off guard, this one, and has resonated with a lot of unsuspecting ears!
