Going some way to fill the cavernous void in our lives left by Trish Keenan's tragic passing, these rough sketches illuminate a musical path stretching out into a vanished future - the quasi-familiar folktronic phrasings settle comfortably, like a welcome old friend, within our grey matter, leaving us longing for the hauntological might-have-been.
'Spell Blanket - Collected Demos 2006-2009' comprises songs and sketches drawn from Trish's extensive archive of 4-track tapes and MiniDiscs. The recordings lay the groundwork for what would have been Broadcast’s fifth album, offering a window into Trish and James’ creative process during the post-'Tender Buttons' period from 2006-2009.
