The third chapter of Unseen takes you on a walk up and over Windover Hill just above the village of Wilmington in East Sussex.

Here you will meet the Long Man, otherwise known as The Wilmington Giant. Nestled on a hillside in the South Downs, the giant stands steady amidst ancient trackways, Neolithic and Bronze Age barrows, flint mines, chalk pits and wild grasses. This is a place steeped in mystery, excitement and heartening energy. Writers Samuel Reid and Philip Carr-Gomm have added their powerful, perceptive and inspiring voices to this issue. Both writers are based in Sussex, have a lifelong knowledge of the area and both are champions of sensorial, solitary walks. Sam has written an arresting short story set in the area, filled with vivid imagery and a strong sense of place. His stories are deeply immersive and always stay with you for days after reading. Philip sat down in his garden on a warm summers day for a delightfully meandering chat imbued with wisdom and insight about Druidry, anarchic Sussex, feminism, synchronicity and conscious walking.
