WELCOME TO CONDALE
london duo unveil their deliciously idiosyncratic, gloriously kaleidoscopic vision, propulsive synth pop taking cues from 80s teen films.
album unfolds, appropriately, in cinematic fashion, bringing to vivid life a cast of misfits & prom queens, loners & lovers all going through
crises of the heart, evoking a whole universe of heartbreak & longing in miniature. working with pulp’s steve mackey, summer camp have
gone from dabbling in nostalgic golden tones to painting with a whole vibrant palette of colour. there’s claustrophobic menace with
shuddering synths & dangerously obsessional lyrics, infectious, whistle-worthy choruses telling of love gone sour, & aching, romantic ballads
about escaping small town existence. “a collection of summery, synth-drenched tunes tailor-made to soundtrack the getting-ready-forthe-
prom montage in an 80s high-school movie.” – the guardian.
