a highly accomplished, more introspective work, recalling radiohead's recent output, early hot chip & a r kane's dreamy, oceanic sound.

lead singer Dave Okumu describes the band's 2nd record as a "love letter to grief" following the death of his mother. In fact, the album is largely inspired by the traditional spirituals sung at her funeral, some of which are sampled on here. "It was the most beautiful sound I've ever heard. They were celebrating life & death, grief & hope, all things. It served as the most potent reminder of everything I believe about music. It's there for everybody, it's inclusive & transformative. I'm so glad these voices are stitched through our record.”
