You get the fuzzy stomps, the doses of psych, the beatles-esque pop sensibility, the acoustic ballads (oh man – a couple of songs here are positively Elliott Smith-ian). He pretty much puts everyone else trying to do those things as their main thing to shame. This record feels proper tight, and like the album you’d recommend you’re uninitiated friend as the place to start on their Segall odyssey.
