Go Dark

This album is like an intense session of cyberpunk cardio, with torn-up synths, blunt brutalist rhythms and glitchy pop – its grimes vs gazelle twin! It’s the result of a partnership between Ashley ‘Crash’ Gallegos and anticon founder Adam ‘Doseone’ Drucker, who arrive at a kind-of manic feminist electro dominated by maximal hyper-reality, eerie soul, distorted 808s, and manic synth-punk.
‘Go Dark’ attacks themes head-on, with references to addiction (‘Big Rot’), misogyny (‘Beautiful Bitch’), poverty (‘El Barrio’), and the solidarity one can find among it all (‘The Brand’). It’s never, ever boring. “Colliding 8-bit, alt-rap and a streak of pure animalism, Go Dark are the electro-punk weirdos you've been waiting for” – line of best fit
