resident new releases january 4th 2010
Hello & welcome to 2010!
Hope you all had a suitably messy / fun / relaxed New Year & that you’re now fully recovered & ready for whatever 2010 has instore for you. On the music front, it has all the makings of a superbly memorable year as we already know about some absolute gems for January – Vampire Weekend, Laura Veirs, Four Tet, Beach House, These New Puritans, Retribution Gospel Choir, Charlotte Gainsbourg & Final Fantasy have all been tried, tested & loved on the Resident stereo so far. Can’t wait to see what the rest of the year has instore for us now………..
Thanks to everyone who came down to make our sale weekend such a big event. Saturday was one of the busiest days we’ve ever had – it was pretty mental – we hope you enjoy all your new music purchased at ridiculously low prices. The sale continues this week & there are still some great bargains to be had, including many of 2009’s best albums.
This week sees 2 whole albums released which are the gorgeous soundtrack to ‘The Road’ by the winning ‘The Proposition’ combination of Nick Cave & Warren Ellis & the ‘Don’t Die Wondering‘ compilation from an off-shoot of the Merok label, which sees tracks from the likes of A Grave With No Name, Dignan Porch, Egyptian Hip Hop, Visions of Trees & more gathered together as a primer for what’s gonna be hot in 2010. There’s also the release of Yeasayer’s new 12″ & the Delphic & Temper Trap picture disc 7″s. Details of these can be seen on the link below.
