Having become a little obsessed with her 2021 debut, news of a follow-up was very excitedly received amongst many Residents.

She’s turned our heads once again. Album opener, ‘I Am The River’, instantly sets the minimalist folkpop tone that permeates the rest of her nourishing second album - it’s been a constant delightful earworm. Lael’s crystalline voice continues to light the way through this set of transcendental pop that’s heavily infused with the influence of The Velvet Undergound. Catchy, intricate but never overwrought, with 60s sensibilities anda DIY ethic, it’s stripped of any extraneous word or sound and we’re left with a record that’s both dynamic and icy.
