4 THE BROTHERHOOD, the project of half-Filipino, half-Jamaican multi-instrumentalist and producer, JR Graham, was crowned as 2024's winner of the coveted Record Store Day Unsigned competition.
Chosen from over 500 entrants by a panel of industry experts, 4 THE BROTHERHOOD won the chance to have this EP mastered at the iconic Abbey Road Studios.
Originating from Surrey, JR was influenced by indie music but quickly found a lack of diversity in that scene, sparking his desire to break down stereotypes and become an authentic voice for representation, diversification and unity.
Nina Nesbitt, a judge of this year's RSD Unsigned Competition, described 4THEBROTHERHOOD's music as having a "great energy - fresh and different from anything else at the moment, but also with a nostalgic feel".
Independent record shop, Truck Records, praised the energy and live presence, while Julie Weir, Director of Music for Nations described the music as an "interesting melting pot of influences, think Slaves (Soft Play) meets Bloc Party".
