Released: 9th Feb 2015

south London’s unlikely bluesman returns with more Dark, mystical & erotic sounds that take his music back to the elements - to his mad blues, the unhurried grooves & desert slithers & his spectral, past-midnight burr.

we were huge fans of garwood's 2013 collaboration with mark lanegan & upon listening to 'heavy love', you'd be forgiven for thinking that you were listening to an electrified follow up to this as garwood's vocals are almost indeterminable from lanegan's at times. lanegan did in fact help out on production duties & savages' jehnny beth contributes vocals on the title track. "career-defining 6th album from grizzled country-blues brit vagabond" 4/5 - mojo, "at times listening to 'heavy blues' is like happily drowning in honey...a collection of brackish mood pictures that swell out of your stereo like the most redolent film soundtracks" 8/10 - uncut.
