FAQs & all you need to know...

Some of the best releases from some of the best indie labels, all with something new and fancy about them.

first of all, here's what we're stocking

Check out all the info on the #LRS website

frequently asked questions (with answers!)

when do they go on sale?

9am in store saturday 4th september 2021 and then all remaining stock 9pm the same day. not a second before.

We will not be taking preorders for late running releases in the shop – any release that is not here physically on the 4th september will be available online, from 9pm on 4th September (and not before).

if i order online, can i collect straight away?

hold yer horses!! afraid not. we work fast & we are efficient but we are not miracle workers. orders need to be received, processed, picked & notified before you mosey on down to the shop to collect them. so, sit tight. await confirmation that your order is ready to collect & as soon as it is, you’re more than welcome to come & grab it. we're expecting this to be very busy - orders will take a while to sort regardless of how much coffee we guzzle.

if i preorder a title, will i need to wait until that date for everything in my order?

nope - we ship all preorders as they get released. if you place an order for one item in stock and three preorders, you'll recieve each item seperately as it comes in.

how many of ____ are you gonna get in and when will this sell out?

we can usually answer the first one (although often don’t actually know until the stock arrives, sometimes the day before!). the second one requires a crystal ball - we wish we knew this stuff but if we had that kind of foresight & vision, we probably wouldn’t be selling records for a living.

can i have more than one? it’s for my friend?

afraid not. you can only buy 1 copy of any release but we do not limit the number of titles you buy. as many titles as you like but only 1 copy of each.

can i combine multiple online orders?

we love to be accomodating but we' have limits when it comes to big events such as this - as organised & accommodating as we are, if you ask us to combine orders, you will break us. we’re not being difficult. it’s just not as easy as it might sound.

how do i know my order has gone through?

if you have received an order number, your order has gone through. sometimes, when the website is especially busy, things can go a bit wonky & order confirmations take a while to come through. if you haven’t received any sort of notification from us within 48hours, please contact us by email: [email protected]

if it’s in my shopping basket is it mine?

nope. you can’t bagsy stuff. it’s not yours til you check out. we would advise that you decide on your priority titles, check those out first & then come back for a more casual browse afterwards, once you know the really important stuff is safe & yours.

where’s my order?

once we have received your order, the status will be marked as “processing”. once your order has been picked & packed & is ready to leave the building, you’ll get notification that your order has “shipped”. then, you’ll need to sit & wait patiently for the royal mail to work their magic. some parts of the uk are much slower than others with their deliveries & some countries are much slower than others. u.k delivery should take between 2 to 5 working days to arrive, europe & rest of world should take a couple of weeks, depending on where you are. if you're in the uk and after 2 weeks from the “shipped” date, you genuinely believe your order has gone missing for good (& you’ve checked with your neighbours, at the post office, behind the wheelie bins), by all means drop us an email at [email protected] but please give it some time. virtually all orders turn up in the end.

do you post internationally?

yes. we post to pretty much everywhere. just be aware that postal times vary hugely depending on where you live.

do i get tracking info?

a royal mail delivery confirmation number can be provided for all mainland u.k. orders once the order has been posted. please contact [email protected] to request your tracking number.

for overseas orders, if you require tracking information, you will have to select the “signed for” postage option at checkout. tracking information cannot be provided on the standard service. ***we highly recommend the signed for option for our international customers, especially as many of these titles won’t be replaceable if they go missing***

Here's the official blurb :

#loverecordstores campaign announces second Love Record Stores Event for September 4th 2021, and welcomes their 2021 Ambassador, Georgia. We also welcome our new partner, the Association of Independent Music (AIM).

Following the resounding success of the #loverecordstores campaign in 2020 and the subsequent Love Record Stores event, which took place last June and resulted in over £1m of sales for record stores, the campaign organisers have announced plans for a second event, which will take place on September 4th.

Now an important fixture in the music retail calendar for UK record retailers, labels and music fans alike, Love Record Stores 2021  will be an opportunity for the independent music community to come together to support record stores who, like many other businesses, have faced difficult trading conditions throughout the pandemic.

Given the UK government’s recent announcements about lifting lockdown restrictions the organisers are confident that by September 4th, Love Record Stores 2021 will see music fans able to visit and support  their favourite physical stores rather than just their online websites to purchase  vinyl exclusives across range of strictly limited-edition releases. This year will also hopefully include a wide range of live, in-store performances by artists and exclusive DJ sets throughout the day.

The Love Record Stores 2021 Ambassador has been announced as London-based record producer, songwriter, singer, rapper drummer and former record store employee Georgia. The Domino Recordings artist released her acclaimed second album ‘Seeking Thrills’ in 2020, which was shortlisted for The Mercury Music Prize.

The Association of Independent Music (AIM) is the not-for-profit trade body that exists to help and support the independent music community, which makes up a quarter of the recorded music market. Now in its 20th year, AIM’s members range from the largest, most respected record labels and associated music businesses in the world to self-releasing artists and the next generation of entrepreneurs in music. AIM promotes and supports this exciting and diverse community globally and provides a range of services, commercial opportunities and practical help to members, enabling them to innovate, grow and break into new markets. AIM also hosted the AIM Independent Music Awards.
