Sound Of The Morning
heavenly recordings
The Bristolian’s second album proves beyond doubt that she only delivers unquestionably well written songs that would stand up as genuinely great songs in any era.
These are unpretentious, catchy as hell numbers & whether they ensnare you on the first listen or eventually grab your attention when your friends have told you about her brilliance for the umpteenth time, what’s for sure is that she’s pretty unignorable. Especially once you’ve seen her live. And especially once you’ve let ‘Alligator’ worm its way into your ear. ‘Sound...’ closes a loop that opened when Greenwich Village first started Americanising British folk in the 60s, as Pearson takes American folk rock & creates something uniquely British.
